My Timeline of Growing Up

One month from today, I will walk across the stage and receive an imaginary diploma stating that I have pretended to graduate with my Master's from Mizzou.
In 10 weeks I will finish my final fieldwork (what we call OT internships), hopefully receive a passing score, receive my actual completed MU transcript, and cram like crazy for my board exam.
In 11 weeks I embark on a series of plane rides which will take me to Addis Ababa, the capitol of Ethiopia. 11 weeks and my world is going to be turned upside down (again) as I learn to love a beautiful culture and people during the days, while drowning myself in my books and clinical situations in the evenings.
15 weeks, and I will be wearing a dorky smile as I sit next to some uncle or aunty who will proceed to question me about my itinerary in India, offer suggestions on what I should do, and welcome me to whatever state/city/region they are from while I gratefully nod my head, knowing I already have plans. 15 weeks and I will be talking late into the night as I stay with my friends Barkha and Tanya in Noida, shop way too much in Sarojini Nagar, and wear a constantly red face due to India's sun and spicy cuisine. I will get to visit some beautiful old places which my eyes have yet to see, hopefully pass my board exam, and then return to Andhra Pradesh to Sarah's Covenant Homes.
There, I will run (with too much excitement) to my baby girl, whose official online name is "Angel." I will probably freak her out with my oohs and aahs and thrills over how big she has gotten and 3,000 kisses. And I will shower my love on my little prince charming ("Gabe") and redo the same oohs and aahs and pictures with the largest, most genuine smile you  have ever seen.

Afterwards, I grow up and do this whole thing called "adulthood," including get my license to work, start a job, furnish an apartment with an artistic-but-frugal spin, etc. However, the excitement for all of that hasn't risen quite yet (though the job search has begun), because I just can't wait for Ethiopia and my beautiful India.  10-11 weeks seems far away, but soon, very, very soon, the blurred whirlwind of my life is going to begin! :)
